With the CoronaVirus sticking around until there’s a vaccine that won’t grow people an extra leg or third ear and the premature reopening of the economy, it seems that we will be required to wear masks every time we step outside our homes and they are definitely in demand.

Of course, the most surgical and medical masks (N95/FFP1) should be left to the medical professionals and first responders on the front lines, but you should still be aware that your cloth masks (unless you have one with a changeable filter), isn’t really saving you from much out there according to this chart. 🤷🏾‍♀️

This chart shows you which masks are best to wear and how they can protect against this virus that lingers on surfaces, skin, the air, and whatever else it wants just to infect its host. This is why we wash our hands so much, disinfect things we frequently touch, wear gloves, have contactless delivery, stay 6ft away from each other, ban gatherings of more than 10 people, cover our mouths when we sneeze or cough, etc.

Saying all this to say, you can still have a mask and get infected with COVID-19. Yes, you should still wear a mask. Just be aware that keeping your distance and washing your hands all help you stay safe and healthy as well. It all works together to keep you healthy, not just wearing the mask and above all else… you could just stay home!

I’m gonna be honest, I am glad that certain states are enforcing the “wear a mask outside of the home” rule b/c you just never know who has what since you can transmit this virus even without symptoms. That way, you can cut down the risk of transmission from someone that may or may not have COVID-19 to you. Please, WEAR A MASK every time you leave your home!! ❤

Stay safe. Stay healthy. Wear a mask. Get some sun. 😊
