When you check-in with your family, strong friends, and colleagues, sometimes we should try to get deeper answers than, “I’m fine” or “I’m okay.” I mean, it’s a pandemic. We don’t know what’s going to happen from one day to the next. However, many of us are doing our best to keep it cool while trying to figure out what to do about work, childcare, and school. It’s not an easy decision to make and some will have to make sacrifices and act in the best interests of their families.

If you ask me, we should all go back to Phase 0 b/c the uptick in COVID cases is steadily increasing and people are still dying. If not everyone, especially those states that have become new hotspots and the new epicenter. This is about money, not people. This is about the economy, not safety. I digress.

When we ask our loved ones to get deeper answers than, “I’m fine” take a moment to really listen to them. Hear them out. Let them tell you why they are feeling blue or orange today. Maybe it’s b/c something isn’t working out or something worked, but they need to adjust to make it fit. I mean, we’re all facing this pandemic and it ain’t over yet.

My point is to lend that listening ear. We all need it and we all have lent it at one time or another. During this time, it’s really important. Listen and hear, not listen to answer or speak. After all, we do have two ears and one mouth, that’s not a mistake. ❤
